Regulate Glucose Levels with Chromium And Vanadyl Sulfate
Regulating blood sugar levels can be tricky, especially for diabetics. Low and high blood glucose levels can cause medical complications. Minerals such as chromium and vanadyl sulfate can help promote glucose synthesis.
Why is blood glucose important?
Blood glucose is a form of sugar that is carried across the bloodstream and used as energy. Every organ and cell in the body needs sugar to function. When blood levels become too low, the condition is known as hypoglycemia. Fatigue, irritation, blurred vision, and irregular heartbeats are symptoms of hypoglycemia. Hypoglycemia is a symptom of diabetes.
When blood levels become too high, the condition is known as hyperglycemia. Hyperglycemia is most common in individuals with diabetes. When blood sugar levels are too high the entire body is affected. Symptoms of high blood sugar are similar to symptoms of low blood sugar with the addition of increased thirst and frequent urination. If blood sugar levels go too high the individual can go into a state of ketoacidosis. Left unchecked the condition can be deadly.
What should blood sugar levels be?
Blood sugar levels will fluctuate depending on the time of day, at rest, and with meals. Blood sugar is expected to rise after meals and fall within a couple of hours as the body processes the sugar. For diabetics, blood sugar levels can stay elevated for hours. Insulin is produced in the pancreas and used to help keep blood sugar levels regulated.
Chromium is a naturally occurring mineral used by individuals with type 1 and type 2 diabetes. The mineral works by improving the way the body synthesizes sugar. Chromium is often taken in combination with biotin. Chromium is beneficial for both low and high blood sugar, and insulin resistance.
Vanadyl sulfate is a mineral used to treat insulin resistance, prediabetes, and diabetes. Evidence shows vanadyl sulfate works similar to insulin in lowering blood sugar levels. Vanadyl sulfate also improves the performance of insulin within the body.
Can supplements help regulate blood glucose levels?
In addition to chromium and vanadyl sulfate, supplements such as alpha lipoic acid (ALA), biotin, and cinnulin work to regulate glucose. ALA helps with turning glucose into energy and removing free radicals from the blood stream. Biotin increases beta cells in the pancreas to improve the processing of glucose. Cinnulin improves glucose tolerance levels and insulin sensitivity. Cinnulin also works well on regulating fast acting blood sugar levels.
Watch blood glucose levels
Unmonitored or unregulated blood glucose levels can have serious health consequences. Blood sugar levels will fluctuate throughout the day but should return to normal. Diabetics have trouble regulating blood sugar levels and are prone to hypo or hyperglycemia. Chromium, vanadyl sulfate, and additional supplements can help regulate glucose production, uptake, and insulin sensitivity.
